I have always loved the quote ‘𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦’ because I remember doing it. I still remember the first time I set up a shop in my family home and sold one of my barbies to my mum (bless 🙏🏽) for 50 cents and feeling so empowered and resourceful.
Fast forward to 2017, where a friend of mine agreed to pay me $200 to build her a website and help grow her business, and that feeling came back, with a slightly more advanced happy dance. I was working in a 9-5 that felt absolutely soul-sucking (seriously ask my friends how my mental health truly was during that time…), and I was looking for a big change. I took on her brand with one goal in mind - to make sure she was represented authentically online (and make money along the way)… so two goals… lol
